What is a venture capital scout program?

A scout program lets people outside a fund bring it startups. What you do, what you decide and what you are paid differ from program to program, so each program page states its own terms.

How do I find programs that are accepting applications?

Filter for open programs, then open each one for who can apply and the deadline. Terms and dates change. Check the official page before you act.

Are all scout programs paid?

No. Some pay a stipend or a share of carry, some pay nothing, and some do not say. A program page shows pay only where the program has published it.

What is the difference between a scout program and a VC fellowship?

A scout program is about bringing startups to a fund. A fellowship is more often teaching, a network and a project. Some programs do both, so read the page and not the label.
