Overview

SparQ is the National Quantum Computing Centre’s program for advancing quantum application discovery, skills development, and networking. It is intended for current and future professionals in industry, business, academia, and other fields.

Its activities span use-case discovery, quantum literacy and programming skills, and community knowledge exchange. Technical users can develop knowledge of quantum algorithms and hands-on experience with real quantum processors. NQCC also describes self-paced online skills training, university-linked professional-development courses, and an annual UK quantum hackathon.

For UK organizations, SparQ can provide application-development expertise and quantum resources through collaborative R&D and proof-of-concept projects. SparQ Access is an initiative within the program, with a separate reviewed access route for UK university research; the academic access periods and application details are announced separately.

Investment focus

SparQ focuses on quantum use-case discovery, quantum literacy and programming skills, community exchange, and practical quantum application development. NQCC describes support for UK organizations through collaborative R&D and proof-of-concept projects.
