South Yorkshire Angel Hub was a historical investment-network collaboration between NorthInvest and TEAM SY, focused on investment and entrepreneurial growth in South Yorkshire. NorthInvest described the Hub as connecting an angel and investor network with startup support and the startup pipeline from TEAM SY programs and accelerators. The network was intended to provide a route to potential capital, not a guarantee of funding. The current operator and continuity of this Hub have not been verified. The Hub began in 2022. In a 2023 example of its activity, NorthInvest listed an in-person pitch event at Sheffield's Hallam i-Lab, where up to six investor-ready technology and digital startups from Northern England were planned to pitch and investors could ask questions and provide feedback. That event has passed; it does not establish a current intake, membership route, or ongoing schedule. (122148, 122166, 122167, 122168, 122169, 122170)
NorthInvest's 2022 report said the Hub supported 34 startups that year, of which four received funding, and attributed more than 60 new jobs to the startups and investment. These are operator-reported historical figures; the job count and causality were not independently audited. Separately, Growth Yorkshire reported that FourJaw raised more than £1 million following support from NorthInvest and the Hub; this was FourJaw's company raise, not the Hub's check size.
