The Two Sigma PhD Fellowship addresses talent gaps in STEM research, ensuring that exceptional scientists can focus on frontier research without financial constraints. The program emphasizes that rigorous, foundational research drives innovation in finance, technology, and scientific progress.
Applications are open to PhD students enrolled at accredited U.S. universities who are entering at least their third year of study. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional research promise and provide two letters of recommendation.
The fellowship provides a stipend of USD 75,000 annually for two years, covering tuition, fees, and living expenses. Additionally, fellows receive USD 10,000 for personal use and flexible needs.
The application process typically opens in spring/early summer, with continuous evaluation for eligible PhD students.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong research trajectory and provide compelling letters of recommendation from their academic advisors.
