Scout Program
THE QUEST’s VC Scout Program is a campus‑based talent network that turns motivated French students into the first cheque‑writers for the next generation of tech companies. Operating alongside their studies, Scouts learn to identify high‑potential “under‑the‑radar” builders, introduce them to THE QUEST investment team and, when a recommended project is accepted, co‑invest €100 000 of pre‑seed capital.
The programme begins with a structured training module covering deal‑sourcing, founder outreach and investment‑memo preparation. Scouts receive a personalised badge, access to the 220 m² Quest headquarters near Paris’ Rue du Sentier, and invitations to private conferences, workshops and social “kermesse” events. Throughout the year they work hand‑in‑hand with former student‑founders who now run THE QUEST, sharpening their understanding of France’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and building a track record that can unlock future roles in VC or startup operations.
Performance incentives are clear: for every student entrepreneur who joins THE QUEST with the Scout’s help, the Scout chooses either a €5 000 cash commission or a share of the carried interest on THE QUEST’s stake. With more than 65 active Scouts and a portfolio whose alumni generate €25 million in ARR, the programme is fast becoming a recognised springboard for ambitious, investment‑minded students across the country.

THE QUEST backs Europe’s most driven 17‑ to 27‑year‑old builders by investing €100 000 pre‑seed cheques, providing a 220 m² Paris HQ and surrounding them with a community, training and hands‑on support to turn obsessive ideas into global tech companies.
Applications are accepted continuously and reviewed on or before the 1st of each month. Candidates complete a short Tally form, then, if selected, interview with the core team. Successful applicants receive onboarding training and join the Scout cohort. After initial intake the community moves to referral‑only membership, so early submission is encouraged. Selection emphasises entrepreneurial initiative, campus reach and willingness to engage for at least one academic year.
Scouts are rewarded every time a sourced founder secures the €100 000 Quest cheque. They can opt for (a) a €5 000 cash payment transferred upon deal close, or (b) a percentage of carry on THE QUEST’s equity position—effectively giving the Scout long‑term upside if the company succeeds. No salary is provided, but events, training and travel to official gatherings are free of charge.
There is no tuition, membership fee or hidden cost. Participants cover personal travel to Paris if they choose to attend HQ events; THE QUEST covers venue, food, materials and all deal expenses.
New Scouts are onboarded at the start of each month. Initial training runs two weeks; thereafter Scouts source deals continuously, submit decks to THE QUEST and, when a referral converts, receive compensation. A minimum one‑year active commitment is expected.
The role fits around academic schedules. Scouts commit to proactive deal hunting for at least one year (~5–10 hours per week), plus occasional weekend or evening events at HQ.
Scouts carry out sourcing on‑campus at their own universities, attend remote training sessions and travel periodically to THE QUEST HQ in Paris for events and workshops.
