Fellowship
The 8VC Bio-IT Fellowship is a three-month, part-time, remote program designed for top PhD students in the life sciences who want to explore the intersection of biotechnology and venture capital. Fellows commit approximately 8-10 hours per week and receive a generous stipend for the duration of the program.
Fellows work closely with the 8VC investment team, gaining hands-on experience in biotech venture capital and company creation. The core activities include identifying new investment and company creation opportunities through landscape research, thesis building, early-stage due diligence, and KOL (Key Opinion Leader) interviews. Each fellow develops an investment thesis in an emerging scientific area of their choice, producing original research that contributes to 8VC's knowledge base in life sciences.
A weekly lecture series features distinguished speakers from startups and academia, covering topics including investment decision-making, company building, pharma business development, and network management. The program is designed to equip fellows for careers as entrepreneurial professors, biotech founders, or venture investors.
