Overview

The Gaingels Venture Inclusion Program (VIP) is a comprehensive initiative designed to increase participation from minorities and underrepresented groups in the innovation economy and venture capital industry. Gaingels, an LGBTQIA+-focused venture capital firm, created VIP to build pathways for talented individuals from marginalized communities to enter and succeed in venture. VIP aims to democratize access to venture capital careers, increase diversity of perspectives within VC, create economic opportunities for underrepresented talent, and build a more inclusive innovation ecosystem.

Candidates are recruited and vetted based on their interest in venture capital, underrepresented background, professional potential, and commitment to diversity and inclusion values. Recruitment occurs through partnerships with diversity-focused nonprofits and associations.

Compensation

Stipend

VIP offers a paid fellowship for selected fellows, providing access to mentors, speakers, and the Gaingels network.

There is no cost to participate in the program.

Timeline

The program lasts for 16 weeks, with a full-time commitment required from fellows.

Engagement

Full-Time

Participants are expected to commit full-time to the fellowship over the 16-week duration.
