Columbia Business School offers multiple venture capital programs designed to prepare students and professionals for careers in venture capital and early-stage investing. Columbia Business School's VC Program aims to develop the next generation of venture capital leaders by combining academic rigor with practical experience. The program focuses on equipping participants with the analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in venture capital investing, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field.
Admission to the Columbia Venture Fellows program is highly competitive and requires a holistic review of the candidate's profile, including essays or written responses and potential interviews. Most executive education programs have rolling admissions and do not require essays or interviews.
Tuition-based enrollment is required for most programs, with specific costs varying by program.
The Venture Capital Private Equity Program lasts 9–12 months, while the Foundations of Venture Capital is a 6-week online program. The Columbia Venture Fellows program spans two years.
Participants can expect a time commitment of approximately 5–7 hours per week for the Venture Capital Private Equity Program and 5–8 hours per week for the Foundations of Venture Capital.
The program offers both online and in-person options, providing flexibility for participants. Most programs have asynchronous and synchronous learning components.
