Fellowship
Susa Ventures created the Fellows Program to widen its sourcing funnel while up‑skilling the next generation of seed investors. Each September–December cohort lasts four months and blends remote learning with two optional weekend summits in San Francisco. Fellows commit roughly five hours per week to:
All accepted fellows receive a monthly cash stipend and a carry share on any investment they originate. The curriculum is sector‑agnostic but Susa steers fellows toward its sweet‑spots—logistics, B2B marketplaces, fintech infrastructure and hard‑tech. Since the 2021 pilot, more than 60 fellows have completed the program, sourcing deals that include a Mexico City logistics marketplace and a US vertical‑SaaS company that later raised from Tiger Global. Fellows who hit ≥ 3 qualified leads may renew for a second term or interview for Susa’s full‑time investment‑team openings.

Applications open each June and close 31 July. The online form asks for résumé, a one‑page market thesis and two warm founder intros. Selected candidates interview with a current partner and an alum. Cohorts are capped at ~25 to keep feedback loops tight; historical acceptance is roughly 6 percent.
Fellows receive a small monthly stipend to defray time costs and earn 20 percent of Susa’s carried‑interest share on every investment they source that ultimately closes. Stipends are paid regardless of deal output; carry is paid pro‑rata when fund distributions occur.
The fellowship charges no tuition. Susa covers Zoom licenses, Airtable workspace, reading materials and all meals during the two in‑person summits; fellows self‑fund travel if they choose to attend on‑site.
Fellows devote about five hours weekly: a 90‑minute live class, 60–90 minutes of founder outreach and memo writing, plus ad‑hoc mentor calls. Work is scheduled around day jobs or studies.
Core workshops, office hours and pipeline work happen on Zoom and Slack; two in‑person weekends (kick‑off and finale) are hosted at Susa’s San Francisco Mission‑District HQ.
