Wharton Impact Venture Associates (WIVA) is an experiential education program providing Wharton and Penn graduate and undergraduate students with hands-on experience in impact investing. The program mirrors professional VC fund activities with student deal sourcing, screening, analysis, and investment recommendations. Participants engage in professional VC activities, sourcing over 400 early-stage impact enterprises annually and conducting rigorous business and impact model analysis.

WIVA targets early-stage impact enterprises that demonstrate positive social or environmental impact while also providing attractive financial returns. The program focuses on sustainable business models and aims to develop students' skills in VC and PE analysis, impact measurement, and deal negotiation.
Admission is by invitation, targeting high-performing students from various disciplines.
Participants do not receive financial compensation for their involvement in the program.
There is no cost for students to participate in the program.
The program runs for a semester or a year, with a focus on experiential learning.
The program is designed as a part-time commitment for students, fitting within their academic schedules.
