The Amazon Lab126 Diversity in Robotics and AI PhD Fellowship was established in September 2020 through partnership between Amazon Lab126 and the Maryland Robotics Center. The fellowship supports merit-based scholarships for PhD students conducting cutting-edge research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and related domains.
The program focuses on advancing diversity in robotics research through funding students pursuing research in mobile robotics, robot motion planning, computer vision, pedestrian tracking, machine learning, and related areas. The initiative addresses the talent pipeline challenge in advanced robotics and AI by supporting underrepresented students in doctoral programs.
