Giants is Blackbird Ventures' flagship free mentoring program for early-stage founders across Australia and New Zealand. Since its launch in 2021, the program has conducted over 6,300 mentoring sessions with 420 mentors serving 1,871 founders, making it one of the largest early-stage founder support programs in the ANZ region. The eight-week program is designed specifically for aspiring and early-stage founders who possess the beginning of an idea they hope to explore and validate. Rather than requiring completed business plans or significant traction, Giants welcomes founders at the earliest stages of ideation and validation. The program connects founders with mentors from leading Australian and New Zealand technology companies including Brighte, CultureAmp, SafetyCulture, Atlassian, Dovetail, Baraja, Airbnb, and Stripe, plus venture capitalists, angel investors, and impact investors. The program operates through multiple cohorts in 2026: Sydney (March 30 - May 1), Melbourne (May 4-29), and Virtual ANZ (August-September). In-person sessions meet weekly on Tuesdays from 5-8pm near the respective city CBDs, creating community while accommodating working founders and operators.
