The Future Africa Fellowship is an 8-month virtual learning experience designed for young African leaders and social innovators committed to advancing the political and economic development of the African continent. The program develops a community of passionate, knowledgeable young Africans equipped with frameworks for understanding African political economy and engaging in development reforms from a pan-African perspective.

The Future Africa Fellowship aims to empower young African leaders by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in political and economic development. It focuses on understanding African political economy and fostering innovative solutions to development challenges across the continent.
Applications for the Future Africa Fellowship open annually in February. Interested candidates can apply through the Future Africa website.
The fellowship does not provide any financial compensation or stipend to participants.
There is no cost associated with participating in the Future Africa Fellowship.
The program runs from April through November each year, with the 2024 cohort starting on April 6 and ending on November 30.
Participants are expected to engage consistently on a part-time basis throughout the 8-month program.
The fellowship is conducted entirely online, allowing participants from across Africa and the diaspora to engage without geographical constraints.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to African development and policy innovation. Highlight relevant experiences and a passion for understanding political economy in your application.
