MIT Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) is a free and confidential mentoring service providing experienced entrepreneurial guidance to MIT community members (students, alumni, faculty, and staff) in the Boston area. Since its founding, VMS has developed one of the world's most robust venture mentoring ecosystems, with a network of nearly 200 experienced volunteer mentors. Entrepreneurs are paired with groups of 2-5 mentors, receiving tailored advice across various domains including product development, marketing, finance, and more. The program emphasizes confidentiality and conflict-free guidance, making it a valuable resource for those looking to navigate the startup landscape.

The MIT Venture Mentoring Service aims to foster entrepreneurship within the MIT community by providing access to experienced mentors who can offer practical, actionable guidance. The program focuses on supporting ventures at various stages of development, helping entrepreneurs navigate challenges in product development, marketing, finance, and more. By leveraging a diverse pool of mentors, VMS addresses the unique needs of startups and promotes a culture of innovation and collaboration.
To apply, visit vms.mit.edu/application and fill out a brief online form describing your venture and mentoring needs. MIT affiliation verification is required, and decisions are typically made within one week.
The program is completely free for participants, with no financial compensation provided to mentors or mentees.

Mentoring meetings can be scheduled as needed, with additional opportunities for engagement through monthly snapshot pitch sessions and boot camps held during January MIT IAP.
