Climate VC Scout Program (Climate Scout Fund)

The Climate Scout Fund is a pioneering climate-focused scout fund developed through collaboration between Climate Capital, Earthshot Ventures, and Elemental Excelerator. The program's mission is to empower a diverse set of climate-tech leaders with capital and community to seed tomorrow's necessary climate solutions.

The Climate Scout Fund aims to democratize climate investing leadership by increasing diversity in climate venture capital and supporting underrepresented climate entrepreneurs. It seeks to identify high-potential pre-seed climate companies and create differentiated dealflow for growth-stage climate funds.

Designed for Scouts, Investors, Limited Partners, Fund Managers. The program is remote. Participation is generally part time.

Candidates should have a passion for climate solutions, access to early-stage climate company networks, and the ability to evaluate climate technology opportunities. A commitment to supporting climate entrepreneurs and a professional background in relevant sectors such as tech, energy, or sustainability is also required.

Participants receive capital to deploy in pre-seed climate companies, oversight and support from sponsoring firms, connections to a network of climate experts, and access to a community of fellow climate scouts.

Climate Capital introduced the fund on September 15, 2023, and said it intended to open scout applications later that month; the announcement does not verify that applications actually opened then. In October 2024, Climate Capital announced grouping the fund with other programs under a Climate Capital Programs umbrella. These are historical milestones, not current application dates.
