BR41N.IO, the Brain-Computer Interface Designers Hackathon, is an international hackathon series organized by g.tec medical engineering, an Austrian BCI and neurotechnology company. It explores BCI and neurotechnology applications in creative, scientific and clinical fields, from motor rehabilitation after stroke to communication for people in a coma and assistive devices.

Since 2017, events in cities such as Dublin, Linz, Graz, Valencia and Banff have each drawn more than 400 participants, who spend 24 hours designing BCI headsets and applications. The series welcomes students and professionals across AI, life sciences, art and technology.

It was inspired by the Agent Unicorn BCI headpiece by fashion-tech artist Anouk Wipprecht, designed to help children with ADHD or autism understand their distractions.
