UC Berkeley's Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Center (LSEC) launched an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Program to connect seasoned entrepreneurs with world-class life sciences research for potential venture creation. The six-month intensive program identifies commercialization opportunities within Berkeley's research portfolio and builds ventures around breakthrough innovations.

The LSEC EIR program addresses a critical gap by connecting world-class university research with experienced entrepreneurs capable of building sustainable, scalable ventures. It aims to generate company formations and successful funding rounds.
The program lasts for six months, during which EIRs will evaluate technologies and potentially lead venture creation.
The program is conducted on-site at the UC Berkeley campus.
