The FAQ requires at least one team member who is a UC faculty member, student, or alum from a full degree program, as well as demonstrated product-market fit. Examples of evidence include sales, letters of intent, or 100 or more customer-discovery interviews. Prior fundraising is permitted if the startup has not raised more than $1 million in dilutive funding; the cited passage does not specify an ISO currency. Teams based outside Berkeley may qualify if they meet the stated UC-affiliation requirement. Berkeley students may not participate concurrently in UC LAUNCH and the StEP Incubator or Lean Launchpad class. A Fall 2026 UC Merced announcement included staff among eligible UC affiliations, while the FAQ does not; staff-only eligibility is therefore unclear.

The FAQ requires at least one UC faculty member, student, or alum from a full degree program on the team and demonstrated product-market fit. Teams outside Berkeley may qualify if they meet the UC-affiliation requirement. A Fall 2026 UC Merced announcement also included staff among eligible affiliations, so whether a staff-only team qualifies is unclear.
The accelerator lasts three months. At least one team member must attend every session for the team to complete it successfully.
