Active Impact Investments is Canada's largest climate tech seed fund, founded in 2018 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The firm provides capital and talent to accelerate the growth of early-stage climate technology companies capable of achieving venture scale. With the close of its third fund at $110 million CAD in May 2025, Active now manages over $180 million in total assets.
The firm's investment track record includes nearly 40 companies with seven exits across Fund I and Fund II ($54M, closed 2021). Fund III targets 25 portfolio investments, with the majority based in Canada. Recent investments include Jetson, Skyward, RIPTK, ThinkLabs AI (Canadian-based), and C.Scale, Lumo, and Zeno (US-based).
Active's scout program leverages the firm's network of operators, investors, and ecosystem partners to source climate tech deal flow. Scouts help identify early-stage companies across Active's focus areas: carbon-negative solutions, renewable energy, sustainable materials, climate adaptation, and cleantech infrastructure.
