Overview

Future Worlds Cohort 25 was a six-month startup acceleration cohort advertised for 2024–2025. It was operated by Future Worlds, identified in the cohort announcement as the University of Southampton’s on-campus startup accelerator. The advertised schedule ran from December 2024 to June 2025, although actual commencement and completion were not verified.

The cohort was described as blended, and its provisional program also described in-person sessions focused on questions for experts and mentors. Regular meetings were advertised in the Future Worlds Accelerator Space. The historical offer included an exclusive content library and continued advice, support, and notice of opportunities after completion.

The 2024 eligibility criteria targeted current Southampton students and researchers, and alumni. Applicants were expected to be founders or co-founders working on an actual startup idea, committed to participation and startup work, and able to accelerate the startup alongside other commitments. Historical rules also required UK work entitlement and excluded Tier 4 student visa holders from the cohort, while allowing them to attend the educational Bootcamp.

A participant, Jamie Horsnell, reported presenting mytender.io to investors at Future Worlds Demo Day 2025. Future Worlds later reported a £250,000 pre-seed raise for mytender.io, also identified as a Cohort 25 startup; this reporting does not establish that program participation caused the raise.
