The NVCA Diversity Task Force was established in December 2014 to advance greater diversity within the venture capital industry and broader startup ecosystem. The task force has evolved into multiple initiatives and programs addressing systemic inequities in founder access, investor diversity, and entrepreneurial opportunity. A new independent nonprofit, Venture Forward, was launched to continue and expand this work.

The mission is to support long-term diversity advancement in venture capital and create networks connecting diverse talent with opportunity.
