Unshackled VC's University Fellows Program is a year-long fellowship specifically designed for 1st and 2nd generation immigrant students interested in venture capital and early-stage investing. Unshackled is an early-stage fund for immigrant-led companies operating since 2015, providing full immigration support including visa sponsorship. The University Fellows program includes classroom-style sessions, diligence research projects, opportunities to co-publish articles and market maps, and connections to a growing community of students and recent graduates. The program provides students with support, frameworks, and deep understanding of early-stage investing, preparing them for careers in product, growth, partnerships, VC, or entrepreneurship. Cohorts have grown from 8 fellows in 2019 to 21 fellows in 2020/2021 across 25 U.S. schools.
