The Haas Impact Fund is a student-managed venture capital initiative within UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. The fund invests in exciting early-stage impact-oriented startups, with student Venture Partners leading sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio stewardship. MBA students gain hands-on investment experience while supporting companies creating measurable social and environmental impact. The fund focuses on backing startups across impact areas including financial wellness, food & agriculture, health, housing, renewable energy, and sustainable services, with investments up to $75,000 plus potential co-funding from partner funds.

The Haas Impact Fund aims to support early-stage startups that create measurable social and environmental impact. By involving MBA students in the investment process, the fund not only provides financial support to impactful ventures but also cultivates the next generation of impact investors.
MBA students at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business interested in impact investing can apply. Strong analytical and research skills are required, along with a passion for social and environmental impact investing.
Participants do not receive financial compensation for their involvement in the program.
There is no cost to participate in the Haas Impact Fund.
The program runs for a year, tied to the academic calendar, with an annual pitch day in April where Venture Partners pitch recommendations to a judge panel.
The program requires a part-time commitment from students, aligning with their academic responsibilities.
The program is primarily in-person, allowing students to engage directly with startups and mentors.
The Haas Impact Fund has been featured in UC Berkeley entrepreneurship publications and has received coverage in the impact investing sector highlighting student involvement in venture capital.
