Fellowship
Avaana Capital launched the Avaana Fellowship Program to give early‑career professionals hands‑on exposure to the private‑equity, venture‑capital and climate‑tech startup ecosystems. Fellows embed with Avaana’s investment and ecosystem teams for a pre‑defined period of six to twelve months, “quarterbacking” relationships across corporates, policymakers, academia and catalytic‑capital partners. Core responsibilities include mapping and nurturing strategic partnerships, curating multi‑platform communications (social channels, newsletters, webinars), supporting flagship climate events and helping portfolio founders amplify their impact stories.
The fellowship is intentionally small, ensuring each participant works directly with partners and senior investors who have raised a US $135 million climate & sustainability fund. Beyond daily tasks, Avaana provides structured learning: weekly check‑ins with mentors, exposure to live investment committees, and the chance to shadow portfolio deep‑dives across sectors such as energy transition, mobility, alt‑materials and ag‑tech. Fellows finish with a broadened network, concrete deliverables and a credible VC credential that alumni have leveraged into roles across startups, consulting and impact finance.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis via the Google Form. Candidates upload a résumé and short motivation statement; shortlisted applicants complete one interview and a brief diligence/communications exercise. Selection prioritises demonstrated interest in climate, prior exposure to startups, PE/VC, consulting or the development sector, and strong written communication skills.
Avaana indicates the role is paid but has not publicly disclosed stipend or salary amounts. Standard employee benefits and travel reimbursements for work‑related events are arranged case‑by‑case.
There are no tuition or programme fees. Fellows cover personal living costs in Mumbai; work‑related travel inside India is reimbursed.
The fellowship runs 6–12 months; weekly schedule and exact hours are set with the supervising partner based on project load.
Fellows operate primarily from Avaana’s Mumbai office; travel to ecosystem events in Delhi, Bengaluru or other Indian hubs may be required.
