Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university and have relevant coursework in physics, optics, mechanical engineering, or mathematics.
Applicants prepare a CV or résumé, unofficial transcript, and personal statement; a recommendation letter is optional. They rank three preferred research hosts. Host institutions independently select and contact applicants.
