The NEX Cubed HBCUVC Venture Scouting Program aims to address the underrepresentation of Black founders and investors in the venture capital ecosystem. By training HBCU-connected individuals in venture capital, the program seeks to create a diverse pipeline of investors and founders, ultimately leading to increased funding for Black-led startups.
The program is open to HBCUvc fellows, alumni, and HBCU students interested in venture capital. Interested individuals can apply through the program's application link.
Scouts in the program receive a percentage of carry, which is a profit share directly tied to the deals they source and the companies they identify. This structure aligns their incentives with the performance of the fund, creating financial upside opportunities.
There is no cost to participate in the program.
The program launched in October 2023, with ongoing opportunities for new cohorts to join.
The program requires a part-time commitment from participants, allowing them to balance other responsibilities while gaining valuable experience.
The program operates in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and remote participation.
