Fellowship
Brooke Owens Fellowship honors the legacy of Dawn Brooke Owens (1980–2016), an accomplished aerospace pilot and industry pioneer. Founded in 2016 shortly after Brooke's passing, the fellowship was established to address the historic gender imbalance in the aerospace field and provide career opportunities for capable undergraduate women.
The fellowship serves as both an inspiration and career catalyst for talented female and gender minority undergraduate students from all backgrounds who have been historically underrepresented in aerospace. The program provides paid summer internships at leading aerospace companies including SpaceX, Blue Origin, Orbital ATK, Virgin Orbit, and Commercial Space Federation.
As of 2024, the fellowship has supported 343 alumnae across eight cohorts, with fellows pursuing careers spanning engineering, science, policy, journalism, and entrepreneurship.
