Columbia Angel Investing Online is an executive education program from Columbia Business School designed to teach high-net-worth investors, entrepreneurs, and institutional investors the methodologies and processes required to invest in early-stage startups as angel investors.

Columbia Angel Investing Online aims to equip high-net-worth individuals and aspiring angel investors with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively invest in early-stage startups. The program addresses the need for structured education in angel investing, focusing on methodologies for deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management.

Designed for Founders, Investors. The program is remote. Participation is generally part time.

The program is designed for high-net-worth individuals, active or aspiring angel investors, institutional investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals looking to transition into angel investing. There are no formal prerequisites, GPA requirements, or age restrictions.

The program has an online application process through Columbia Business School's executive education portal. There are no essays or interviews required, and admissions are rolling throughout the year with courses starting monthly.

Participants gain structured investment methodologies, valuation skills, portfolio management frameworks, diligence expertise, and negotiation skills. They also benefit from networking opportunities with peers, faculty, and industry experts, as well as access to practical tools and resources.

The program lasts approximately 8–12 weeks, allowing participants to complete it at their own pace. Typical commitment is 5–8 hours per week, with no synchronous meetings required.

Program alumni have successfully built angel portfolios ranging from $250K to $5M+, invested in multiple early-stage companies, and some have progressed to formal venture capital roles. Alumni also engage in mentoring founders and supporting the early-stage ecosystem.
