The Indie.vc Scout Program was a 2020 pilot run by Indie.vc, the alternative venture platform created inside OATV by Bryce Roberts. Its core mechanic was scout-style deal referral for Indie.vc-aligned companies: if a scout referred a company Indie.vc funded, the scout would receive a cash referral check instead of traditional carry. The program aimed to train scouts to develop track records as Indie.vc-aligned investors and to turn supporters into potential co-investors or quality dealflow sources.
