StartX is a non-profit business accelerator that was established in 2010 to develop the entrepreneurial potential of Stanford University’s students, alumni, faculty, and staff. It provides them with resources, mentorship, and a collaborative community to help them expand their businesses.

The StartX community comprises of over 2,400 entrepreneurs and over 600 startup companies. They boast a multitude of success stories, such as billion-dollar companies like SoFi, a fintech offering innovative financial products, and Lime, the scooter-sharing service.

The startups incubated within StartX emerge from a wide array of industries. For instance, Immunity Bio, a clinical-stage immunotherapy company, recently reported promising results from a COVID-19 vaccine trial.

StartX’s resources are relatively vast. In fact, in 2019, StartX, along with Stanford University and Stanford Health Care, launched a $500 million fund called the StartX Fund. The fund provides capital to StartX startups without taking any equity.

StartX is also known for its unique culture, emphasizing community and collaboration. They treat entrepreneurship as a life-long journey, not a one-time venture, and thus aim to support their entrepreneurs at all stages of their development.

Notably, StartX provides resources not just to startups, but also to investors through the StartX VCx initiative. This is a program that provides dedicated resources and access to StartX companies for venture capital firms.
