Overview

The Alumni Ventures Venture Fellow Program (VFP) is a year-long, remote, part-time career accelerator and educational experience designed as an on-ramp into venture capital. Founded in 2014 by Luke Antal, Alumni Ventures' Co-Founder and Chief Community Officer, the program has become one of the largest and most established VC fellowship programs in the United States, with over 500 alumni. Fellows commit 5-10 hours per week and access a 12-month proprietary curriculum covering venture capital fundamentals, deal evaluation, portfolio construction, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program includes exclusive Fellows-only webinars with prominent figures from the VC network, skill development workshops, and networking opportunities. Fellows are fully integrated into Alumni Ventures' operations, gaining hands-on experience with real deal flow and investment processes. The program's diversity mission is central to its identity: over 80% of fellows come from traditionally underrepresented racial, ethnic, or gender groups, compared to an industry average of approximately 30%. Alumni Ventures explicitly positions the VFP as a tool for increasing access to venture capital careers for people who have historically been excluded from the industry. Approximately 40% of VFP graduates ultimately transition to careers in venture capital, entrepreneurship, or related fields. Alumni have moved into roles as VC investors, startup founders and CEOs, operators at VC-backed companies, fund managers, and related positions across the ecosystem.
