Dartmouth College, established in 1769, showcases a vibrant startup and venture capital ecosystem. It fosters innovation and entrepreneurship through various programs and initiatives, thereby cultivating a conducive environment for budding entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
One of Dartmouth’s key initiatives is the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN), which provides resources and support for student and alumni entrepreneurs. DEN's Innovation Center and New Venture Incubator has helped numerous Dartmouth-affiliated startups to nurture their ideas and transform them into successful ventures.
A crucial part of the Dartmouth entrepreneurial ecosystem is the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship. The center offers coursework, workshops, entrepreneur-in-residence programs, and startup competitions that provide both funding and mentorship opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs.

For instance, April Koh started the mental health platform Spring Health; and Jake Cacciapaglia and Jordan Eisenberg started Rowan, a piercing studio platform. An illustration of success in the VC world is Jesse Leibowitz, a Dartmouth alum who is currently a partner at Sequoia Capital. Sequoia has consistently ranked as one of the top venture capital firms in the world, and Leibowitz's role there underscores the impact that Dartmouth graduates have in the venture capital landscape.
Facing startups' challenges, Dartmouth in 2020 expanded its entrepreneurial offering with the creation of the Dartmouth Applied Learning & Innovation (DALI) Lab, offering technical and design assistance to startups.
