Fellowship
The Latam Venture Fellowship is Pulsar VC’s on‑the‑ground talent track for future investors who want to build careers in the Latin‑American startup ecosystem while learning how a cross‑border fund operates. The fellowship hires a small cohort of “Venture Capital Fellows (Latam)” for an approximately four‑month rotation based in Brazil. Fellows join the Pulsar investment team—an organisation that has deployed capital in 60‑plus startups across the USA, Europe and Asia since 2009—and contribute directly to sourcing, evaluating and supporting new deals that originate in Latin America but aim for global scale.
Because Pulsar runs both a syndicate platform and thematic soft‑landing programs (GO LATAM, GO JAPAN, SportTech, FinTech, etc.), fellows see the full venture funnel: inbound pitch review, market and competitor mapping, unit‑economics modelling, founder interviews, memo drafting, investment‑committee discussion and, occasionally, post‑deal portfolio support. Day‑to‑day tasks are drawn from a published responsibility list—deal screening, trend research, financial‑model analysis and network‑building—and are supervised by a partner in São Paulo plus functional mentors across Pulsar’s hubs in the USA, Portugal and Japan.
The position is part‑time to accommodate university schedules or parallel work commitments. Pulsar emphasises a “hybrid” rhythm: fellows work remotely for most analytical work but are expected to attend periodic in‑person meetings, ecosystem events and founder sessions in Brazil’s major startup centres. Throughout the rotation participants receive structured feedback, access to Pulsar’s global Slack, and a guaranteed stipend. Stand‑out performers may be offered a permanent, paid role on Pulsar’s core team after the fellowship ends.
Founded on principles of diversity and equal opportunity, Pulsar explicitly welcomes applicants from varied academic backgrounds—finance, engineering, computer science and innovation management are highlighted—and stresses curiosity, analytical rigor and bilingual (Portuguese‑English) communication skills. The program has become Pulsar’s primary feeder for future analysts in the firm’s planned Latam expansion, making it a gateway to long‑term venture‑capital careers in the region.

Candidates apply via the “Apply Now” form on the fellowship page, uploading a résumé and answering short questions. The form requires proof of Portuguese and English proficiency, a LinkedIn URL and a brief statement of goals.
Short‑listed applicants complete an interview and may be asked to perform a desk‑based diligence exercise. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the cohort is full.
Fellows receive a stipend for the four‑month engagement (exact amount undisclosed) and reimbursement for approved local travel to Pulsar events.
While no carried interest is granted, Pulsar may offer graduating fellows a salaried analyst position, converting the fellowship into a full‑time paid role.
There is no tuition or programme fee. Fellows cover personal living expenses and any optional travel outside Brazil; all mandatory program costs are absorbed by Pulsar.
The advertised load is roughly 15–20 hours per week over a four‑month period. Hours are flexible around lectures or other employment but fellows must reserve availability for scheduled partner calls, founder pitches and occasional evening events.
Fellows work remotely for research and memo writing but must be able to attend in‑person meetings and networking events in Brazil; most activity centres on São Paulo and Rio‑de‑Janeiro startup hubs.
