The Fusion Innovation Bootcamp (FIB) is run by IGNITE Fusion Energy at Tennessee Tech. It teaches students fusion engineering and technology alongside communication, presentation and entrepreneurship skills, and connects them with professionals from fusion companies, universities and national labs.

The inaugural bootcamp hosted 15 students from June 15 to 26, 2026 at Tennessee State University in Nashville, on the theme Fusion Supply Chain and Workforce Development. Speakers included Bibake Uppal (Kyoto Fusioneering America), Lenka Kollar (Helixos), Dr. Patrick White (Clean Air Task Force) and Prof. Kenneth Kahn (Old Dominion University), with invitations extended to companies such as Commonwealth Fusion Systems, TAE Technologies and Tokamak Energy.

The program is fully funded (lodging, meals and transport) and asks for a refundable USD 200 registration fee. Participants form startup-style teams with CEO, CTO, CFO and CIO roles.
