Startup accelerators

Accelerators put money and a deadline behind an early company. Find the ones that fit your stage and field, and what each one asks for.

Accelerator programs and lists

The programs accelerators run, and lists that group them by field and place.

What an accelerator actually gives you

Money on set terms

A fixed investment for a fixed share, the same for every company in the batch. The terms differ more between programs than the brochures suggest, so read them before you apply.

A cohort and a clock

A few months, a group of companies at the same stage, and a deadline at the end. The deadline does more of the work than people expect.

Investors at the end

Demo day puts the whole batch in front of investors at once. What gets funded afterwards is still decided one company at a time.

Where do you sit

Questions about accelerators

How much equity do accelerators take?
It varies. Many take between 5 and 10 percent for a fixed investment. Each program page shows the terms the program has published, and leaves a blank where it has not.
Is an accelerator the same as an incubator?
No. Accelerators run fixed cohorts with an investment and a demo day. Incubators are usually longer and looser, and often do not invest.
I work at an accelerator. Can I scout for a fund?
Often, with your program's permission in writing. Confidential batch information never travels, and both sides should know you scout before you refer anyone.
Do accelerators run their own scout programs?
Some do, though most scout programs are run by funds. Both are listed here.
Can Superscout get me into a program?
No. Programs choose who they take. What you get here is what each one asks for and when it opens.
