What is Superscout?

Superscout documents venture scout programs, fellowships and the organizations that run them, and gives scouts a place to keep a public record of what they spotted and when. We document programs. We do not run them.

Is it legit?

Every claim on an entity page carries a source and a review date. Anything we cannot source stays off the page, which is why you will see blanks rather than plausible-looking numbers. If you find something wrong, there is a report link on every page and we would rather hear it than not.

Is it free?

The scout profile is free and stays free. Contributing what you see and being discoverable never costs anything. Pro adds tools for discovery and analysis. Payment buys tools, never favor: it does not improve your standing with any program, and no program can pay to rank higher here.

Where do I start?

Start with your situation, not a program list. The guides show what scouting can look like from where you already sit.

Who sees my profile?

Your public profile is public, which is the point of it. What you mark private stays private. You control which deals and memos are visible.

Can you get me a scout seat?

No, and anyone promising otherwise is selling something. Programs choose their scouts. What we can do is make your judgment legible before you apply.

Something here is wrong. Now what?

Tell us. Every entity page has a report link. Corrections against a primary source are applied and the review date moves.

Where does the data come from?
Program pages, host organization pages, press coverage, public participant accounts and public directories. Each entity page lists what was used and when it was last reviewed.
Why is this field blank?
Because we could not source it. A blank means nobody has published it or we have not verified it yet. It never means zero, and we do not fill gaps with estimates.
How often is this reviewed?
Entity pages carry their own last-reviewed date. Programs change deadlines and terms without announcing it, so treat the program's own page as authoritative for anything time-sensitive.
Are you affiliated with the programs you list?
No. Being listed here is not a partnership, a referral relationship or an endorsement in either direction.
Can a program pay to be listed or ranked higher?
No. Listing follows coverage and evidence. There is no paid placement anywhere on this site.
Do I need venture experience to scout?
No. Most scout programs are explicitly recruiting people who are not in venture, because the point is reaching founders that investors do not already see.
How much time does scouting take?
Programs generally describe it as a part-time commitment alongside a job. Where a program has stated hours, its entry shows them.
How do I get my program listed or corrected?
Use the report link on any page, or the contact route in the footer. Program operators correcting their own entry go to the front of the queue.
