Council Capital

Council Capital is a healthcare-focused private equity firm based in Nashville, Tennessee, managing over $350 million in committed capital. We invest in lower middle market healthcare companies where we see the potential to scale purpose and performance. Our investments span control and minority positions in businesses with enterprise values between $10 million and $100 million. What sets us apart is the Council Model—a proven framework that surrounds founders and leadership teams with a powerful combination of support: our CEO Council of seasoned operators, our Strategic Healthcare Investors who bring real-world insight and access, and our internal Value Creation Team, focused on enabling growth through talent, systems, and strategy. At Council Capital, we’re not just backing companies—we’re helping build enduring businesses that improve lives and shape the future of healthcare. The Associate role is not just a support role built around modeling requests. You will find deals, underwrite them, and help support them—you will leave the firm better equipped than you found it. The work splits three ways. Where your time goes & What that means 40% Business Development Support mid-level-led themes on development and outreach, and own thesis segments of your own: the memo, the target list, and the live outreach, with mid-level approval before anything goes out. Business development is a 40% minimum. When execution is light, your time shifts heavier to sourcing. 40% Diligence and Execution Models, IC memos, and supporting analysis on live deals. You are responsible for analyzing new opportunities and supporting mid-levels in diligence workstreams end-to-end, including third-party providers and the timeline. 20% Portfolio Support Portfolio companies as assigned, alongside mid-levels and Partners, joining boards as an observer. Waterfalls, board materials, and reporting with variances flagged before management raises them. What you will own: - A quarterly to semi-annual deep dive on a thesis segment, from the memo through the target list through conversations with owners and intermediaries. This might be a segment of a theme a mid-level is driving, or a smaller-scale theme of your own. - The financial model on live deals: pressure-testing, scenario analysis, building where required, and defending your work when a Partner starts asking questions. - Operating analysis on targets beyond financial modeling: KPI trends, HR and retention trends, sales and marketing trends, cost trends, and more. - Support mid-levels in diligence workstreams end-to-end, including third-party providers and the timeline—not just the output. - IC memos, portfolio updates, and board materials that are ready to circulate after mid-level review. - Reporting and performance tracking for portfolio companies you support, with variances flagged before management raises them. What you bring Required - Pre-MBA; two to five years of high-performing, early-career experience in a highly analytical field. - Strong analytical and Excel skills. You should be able to pull apart a financial model, find what is wrong, and defend a view on what drives the business. We care more about how you evaluate a business than whether you follow a banker’s template. - Evidence that you have owned an analytical workstream rather than executed pieces of someone else's. - Willingness to pick up the phone—a meaningful share of this job is talking to owners and intermediaries who did not ask to hear from you. - Comfort committing to a multi-year path. - Based in Nashville, with the ability to travel up to 20%. PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED - Healthcare exposure. Payers, reimbursement, and provider economics are learnable, and we will teach them, but a head start helps. - Lower middle market or middle market transaction experience, where the data is incomplete and the seller is often the founder. Council Capital and our portfolio companies are committed to building high-performing teams by hiring the best talent—period. We believe in putting the right people in the right seats, regardless of background, and we’re always looking for individuals who bring fresh thinking, grit, and a drive to make a difference. Thank you for considering a role with one of our companies. We’re excited to learn more about you.

Our work is urgent — not because of startup timelines, but because our customers rely on us to drive financial resilience and operational clarity in a system under strain. ABOUT THE ROLE Ascertain is looking for a Director, Strategic Sales – Cardiology to help build and grow our cardiology business. You’ll be responsible for winning new business with cardiology practices, MSOs, regional groups, and affiliated health system practices—and helping establish Ascertain as a meaningful commercial partner in the cardiovascular market. This is a true hunter role. You’ll own the sales cycle from prospecting through close, building your own pipeline, opening doors, and carrying a multimillion-dollar revenue target. You’ll work directly with senior healthcare leaders to understand how their organizations operate, identify where administrative complexity is creating financial and operational challenges, and build a compelling case for Ascertain. You won’t do it alone, but you will own the outcome. You’ll have access to leaders and experts across Ascertain—from Product and Partner Solutions to Implementation and clinical and operational SMEs—and you’ll be responsible for bringing the right people into the sales process at the right time to move complex opportunities forward. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than sell an established product into an established market. You’ll help define how Ascertain wins in cardiology—turning relationships into revenue, bringing what you learn from the market back into the business, and helping build the commercial playbook and team as we grow. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the full enterprise sales cycle for Ascertain’s cardiology business, from prospecting and pipeline development through negotiation and close, working with MSOs, regional groups, and affiliated hospital cardiology practices to deliver against a multimillion-dollar revenue target. - Lead sophisticated, consultative sales conversations with executives, operators, clinicians, and financial stakeholders, building consensus across complex buying groups. - Orchestrate the right Ascertain resources to advance opportunities, bringing in Partner Solutions, Implementation, Product, and clinical or operational SMEs at the right points in the sales process. - Maintain strong commercial and forecasting discipline, keeping CRM and pipeline data current and partnering with Product, Finance, and other internal teams to provide reliable visibility into the business. - Help build Ascertain’s cardiology commercial function, using customer insights, market feedback, and competitive intelligence to shape go-to-market strategy and developing additional commercial teammates as the business grows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 8–12+ years of B2B enterprise healthcare sales experience, ideally selling software, digital health, medical devices, revenue cycle solutions, or other complex solutions into healthcare organizations. - Demonstrated success building pipeline and winning new business in the cardiovascular market, rather than primarily managing or expanding an existing book of accounts. - Strong consultative enterprise selling skills and commercial judgment, with the ability to understand a customer’s business model, build a compelling economic case for change, and navigate complex sales cycles; experience with Challenger, MEDDICC, or similar methodologies is a plus. - Entrepreneurial, relationship-driven approach to sales, with the ability to earn credibility with senior healthcare leaders and effectively orchestrate technical, operational, implementation, and subject matter experts throughout the sales process. - Bachelor’s degree and a track record of performing against ambitious commercial goals, with motivation to succeed in a performance-driven environment where exceptional results are meaningfully rewarded. BONUS POINTS - Experience selling into vascular, ambulatory surgery, or ambulatory imaging organizations. - Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management, prior authorization, practice management, or other administrative workflows. - Experience at a healthcare technology, medical device/imaging, or enterprise technology organization known for rigorous sales training, with existing relationships with leaders across cardiology practices, cardiology groups, or adjacent ambulatory healthcare organizations. - Experience helping establish a new market, service line, or commercial motion rather than inheriting a mature territory. COMPENSATION The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000-$150,000 plus equity. On-target earnings (OTE) are approximately $250,000-$300,000 with significant (uncapped) upside for exceeding sales goals. Why Ascertain? MEET ASCERTAIN Ascertain is building AI agents to automate the administrative work that burdens care teams. We are in major health systems and large specialty groups, saving hundreds of staff hours every week. Our backers include Northwell Health, New York’s largest health system, and Deerfield Management, a leading healthcare investment firm. Together, we’re on a mission to restore time, trust, and focus to the people who keep healthcare running. Our work is urgent — not because of startup timelines, but because our customers rely on us to drive financial resilience and operational clarity in a system under strain. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own the full arc of a customer deployment: understanding a practice's workflows in depth, building the integrations that connect Ascertain's agents to their systems, and shipping the result into production. You will work directly with billers, referral coordinators, practice administrators, and clinical staff to map their processes, then translate what you learn into working software. The role combines substantive engineering work with sustained customer engagement. FDEs are the technical owners of their deployments—you’ll collaborate with the customer, write production code, and be the person in the room when customers raise difficult questions. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Embed with new and existing customer practices, remotely and on-site, to map prior authorization, referral, and related workflows end to end. - Build and own the integrations that connect Ascertain's agents to customer systems: EHR APIs (Athena, eClinicalWorks, Epic, etc.), payer portals, fax and EDI, document intake, and the rest of the practice's stack. - Configure and extend our agent platform for each customer—ontology, prompts, tools, guardrails, escalation paths—and harden what works into reusable patterns. - Debug production issues across the full stack: data, prompts, APIs, UI, and the surrounding human workflow. - Serve as the technical voice in customer conversations. Translate between clinical-operations language and engineering, and make informed decisions on what to build, what to configure, and what to decline. - Surface learnings to the product and platform teams so patterns discovered once become reusable. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required - 5+ years shipping production code in a commercial engineering role. - Fluent in Python - Proficient with SQL, REST APIs, and at least one full-stack or front-end framework. - A track record of delivering in environments where the problem was not fully specified - early-stage startup, consulting, applied research, or an operations-heavy role. - Strong written and verbal communication. You can lead a working session with a non-technical practice manager and produce a concise specification afterward. - Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites. Strongly preferred - Healthcare experience: EHRs, claims and EDI (X12 270/271, 278, 837), HL7/FHIR, payer portals, RCM, or prior authorization workflows specifically. - Production experience with LLMs or agent frameworks—prompt design, evaluations, tool use, retrieval, guardrails. - Applied integration experience: OAuth flows, webhook plumbing, browser automation, PDF and document parsing. - Prior experience as an embedded engineer working directly with enterprise customers. This role will not suit you if - You prefer a well-defined backlog of tickets. - You are looking to specialize deeply in a single technical area. - You do not want regular, direct customer interaction as part of your day-to-day work. Why Ascertain? Make a real difference: Your work will directly impact healthcare organizations and improve patient care. Join Ascertain in transforming healthcare with AI!

At Council Capital, we’re not just backing companies—we’re helping build enduring businesses that improve lives and shape the future of healthcare. About the Company We are a private equity-backed healthcare technology company specializing in payment integrity. We are rapidly scaling and investing in marketing as a key growth engine. This role is designed to introduce discipline, consistency, and compelling storytelling to our go-to-market approach, turning a sophisticated platform into a clear, differentiated brand. The Role We seek a hands-on marketing leader who can both strategize and execute with fresh ideas. You will oversee execution of marketing activities across brand, messaging, digital, and events, translating our complex analytics platform into clear, compelling value propositions for various healthcare buyers. Willingness to learn our solutions and service offerings in order to apply modern marketing practices and innovative approaches is critical for this marketing leader. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, who owns the marketing vision and budget. You bring craft, discipline, and follow-through. Your biggest wins in the first year will come from unifying the brand, maintaining consistent external messaging, and leveraging our digital channels and marketing tools. You are encouraged to bring innovation to outbound messaging and targeting. What You Will Do - Own and unify brand and positioning: Bring consistency to templates, decks, email signatures, and collateral for a professional external brand. - Enforce message discipline: Maintain consistent, on-strategy external messaging across commercial payer, government/Medicaid, and Medicare audiences. - Translate capabilities into buyer value: Turn complex payment integrity and FWA capabilities into clear, differentiated value propositions for each buyer persona. - Run digital marketing end to end: Improve website user experience and conversion, maximize value from the marketing automation stack (e.g., HubSpot), and grow qualified traffic through SEO/AEO with measurable targets. - Build sales-enablement narratives: Deliver market-ready messaging frameworks and sales collateral at about 70 to 80% finished, so product and sales teams only refine the final details. - Design and execute buyer-persona campaigns: Create distinct programs for commercial, government, and Medicare/Medicaid buyers. - Own events end to end: Plan and run approximately 6 to 10 events per year (about 2 requiring travel), manage booth, collateral, pre-event demand, post-event follow-up, and vendors and sponsorships. - Manage to a budget you help optimize: Ensure maximum value from marketing spend set by the Chief Growth Officer, with disciplined stewardship. - Report on effectiveness: Define and track marketing KPIs—traffic, conversion, and pipeline contribution—and share results and learnings with leadership. What You Bring - 7+ years in B2B marketing, with a record of hands-on execution across brand, digital, and demand generation. - Proven ability to translate complex or technical products into clear buyer value propositions. - Strong writer and communicator who produces polished, sales-ready messaging with minimal direction, without obvious use of AI. - Demonstrated innovation and creativity using AI and modern marketing technologies to generate ideas, test approaches, and deliver measurable results. - Digital fluency: website and conversion optimization, marketing automation (HubSpot or similar), and SEO/AEO with proven outcomes. - Event marketing experience, including complete ownership of trade shows or conferences and vendor management. - Comfortable executing strategies and budgets set by a senior leader; disciplined, low-ego, and self-motivated. - Healthcare, payer, or regulated-industry marketing experience. - Thrives as an individual contributor in a lean, fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. Nice to Have - Experience marketing payment integrity, FWA, claims, or healthcare analytics solutions. - Familiarity marketing to both commercial payers and government/Medicaid/Medicare buyers. - Experience driving brand consistency at a scaling or newly independent Council Capital and our portfolio companies are committed to building high-performing teams by hiring the best talent—period. We believe in putting the right people in the right seats, regardless of background, and we’re always looking for individuals who bring fresh thinking, grit, and a drive to make a difference. Roadrunner Venture Studios

About Roadrunner Venture Studios Roadrunner Venture Studios is the nation’s leading platform for founding breakthrough ventures in deep technology. Our mission is to turn frontier tech into breakthrough companies for the benefit of the American people. Together with engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs, we build products, create business models, recruit teams, align companies with their first customers, and provide initial funding. Our Venture Studio focuses on advanced energy, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, and next generation compute. About the Role Roadrunner Venture Studios is seeking an Executive/Founder in Residence (EIR/FIR), Advanced Energy to help identify, shape, and launch new companies at the intersection of energy infrastructure, power generation, and rapidly growing electricity demand. This role is designed for an experienced energy executive who understands not only how power is generated, but how energy projects are financed, contracted, sold, and ultimately turned into bankable businesses. The EIR/FIR will work alongside the Roadrunner team and prospective founders to evaluate new venture opportunities, develop commercial and financing strategies, and help move the strongest concepts from thesis to execution. A particular focus will be opportunities created by hyperscalers, data centers, advanced manufacturing, and other large-load customers whose demand for reliable power is reshaping energy markets. What You'll Do Develop New Energy Ventures: Identify and evaluate opportunities across power generation, energy infrastructure, grid services, and large-load energy markets. Lead Project Finance Strategy: Build and evaluate financing structures for capital-intensive energy projects, including project-level debt and equity, tax incentives, development capital, and other sources of infrastructure financing. Structure Power Offtake: Develop commercial models for selling power through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), utility contracts, direct-to-customer agreements, and wholesale electricity markets. Engage Hyperscalers & Large Energy Buyers: Build relationships with hyperscalers, data center operators, industrial customers, utilities, and other major power purchasers and understand how they evaluate generation, reliability, price, location, and time-to-power. Build Bankable Projects: Translate technologies and development concepts into projects capable of attracting customers, investors, lenders, and strategic partners. Understand the Economics of Power: Develop and pressure-test revenue models based on the economics of generating and selling electricity, including contracted and merchant power, capacity, ancillary services, and other potential revenue streams. Navigate Grid & Market Dynamics: Evaluate interconnection, transmission, congestion, curtailment, market pricing, and other factors that determine whether and how a project can economically sell power to the grid. Shape Commercial Strategy: Determine where a venture should sit in the value chain—from technology provider to developer, owner/operator, or independent power producer—and how it should ultimately make money. Build the Ecosystem: Develop relationships with utilities, developers, IPPs, infrastructure investors, lenders, hyperscalers, equipment providers, regulators, and other partners necessary to launch and scale new ventures. Support Company Formation: Work directly with Roadrunner and founding teams on business models, financial models, customer development, capital strategy, partnerships, and early company formation. What We're Looking For Significant experience in energy project development, project finance, infrastructure investing, power markets, or commercial energy strategy. Direct experience developing, financing, owning, operating, or transacting around power generation or energy infrastructure projects. Deep understanding of PPAs and other power offtake structures, including the commercial terms that make projects financeable. Experience working with utilities, grid operators, independent power producers, infrastructure investors, or large corporate energy buyers. Familiarity with the rapidly evolving power requirements of hyperscalers and data centers is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of project economics, including development costs, capex, operating costs, financing, power pricing, returns, and risk allocation. Ability to assess both contracted and merchant power opportunities and understand how electricity is monetized across different markets. Commercial instincts and the ability to distinguish an interesting technology from a financeable, buildable, and scalable energy business. Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial environment where the opportunity, business model, team, and path to market may still be taking shape. The Ideal Profile The ideal candidate has spent their career close to the point where energy projects become economic reality. They understand what it takes to develop a project, secure an offtaker, negotiate a PPA, finance construction, connect to the grid, and ultimately sell power. They may come from an independent power producer, energy developer, infrastructure investor, utility, project finance institution, hyperscaler energy team, or large-scale energy infrastructure company. Most importantly, they combine sophisticated project finance and power-market knowledge with a builder's mentality and want to use that experience to create the next generation of advanced energy companies.

This role requires someone who enjoys ownership, anticipates problems before they arise, and delivers an exceptional service experience. Your success will be measured not by fixing every issue personally, but by ensuring the facility consistently operates at the highest level. What You'll Do Facility Operations Serve as the facility concierge and primary point of contact for all building-related requests. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring the building is safe, clean, functional, and ready for daily use. Act as the single concierge point of coordination for all maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects. Schedule vendor visits, oversee work performed, and verify projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Manage service contracts, vendor performance, warranties, and preventive maintenance agreements. Obtain quotes, coordinate purchasing, and support facility budgeting. Tenant Experience Provide a five-star, concierge-level experience for everyone who uses the Roadrunner Quantum Lab. Manage tenant onboarding and offboarding, workspace readiness, badge access, visitor coordination, and general facility support. Respond quickly to tenant concerns while ensuring every issue is owned through resolution. Coordinate conference room scheduling, hospitality, tours, VIP visits, executive meetings, and special events. Anticipate tenant needs and proactively coordinate solutions before issues impact operations. Help create a welcoming, professional, and highly functional environment throughout the facility. Safety & Compliance Coordinate facility safety programs, inspections, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements. Maintain facility documentation, maintenance records, operating procedures, and vendor certifications. Administer building access, visitor management, and badge systems. Coordinate emergency repairs and ensure appropriate vendor response during facility incidents. Support compliance with applicable building, insurance, security, and operational requirements. Administration Maintain facility budgets, purchase orders, vendor invoices, and operational reporting. Develop and improve facility processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures. Track work orders, service history, preventive maintenance schedules, and facility metrics. Support planning and logistics for events, workshops, tours, and community programming hosted within the facility. Who You Are You have a concierge mindset. You enjoy making things run smoothly, take pride in exceptional service, and naturally become the person others rely on to solve problems. You're proactive, organized, and responsive, ensuring every facility issue is owned from start to finish. You don't need to be the plumber, electrician, or HVAC technician—you know how to identify issues, engage the right experts, coordinate their work, and make sure the job gets done right. You're also: 5+ years of experience in facilities management, property management, workplace operations, building operations, or a similar operational leadership role. Experienced managing vendors, contractors, landlords, and third-party service providers. Comfortable overseeing maintenance projects without personally performing specialized trade work. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Service-oriented with a concierge approach to workplace operations and tenant experience. Able to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining high operational standards. Experienced with building systems, maintenance coordination, access control, and preventive maintenance programs. Familiar with workplace safety practices and facility compliance requirements. An excellent communicator who works effectively with tenants, contractors, researchers, founders, government partners, and visitors. Excited about helping operate one of the nation's premier quantum innovation facilities. Why Roadrunner We earn trust through fairness, integrity, and consistent delivery. We win together, own together, and run together. We're building companies that matter—and creating an environment where exceptional people can do their best work. Roadrunner Venture Studios sits at the intersection of frontier research and real-world commercialization. Build short form into a business line for FlightStory's IP and creators. FlightStory is the media company behind The Diary of a CEO, Hot Smart Rich, Begin Again with Davina McCall and We Need to Talk with Paul C. Brunson. Short form is where we test ideas, prove audiences and develop the IP the wider slate is built from. We're looking for a Director to run it across our new IP and the creators we sign: what we make, what it earns, the system that produces it, and the team and platform relationships behind it. WHAT YOU'LL OWN The plan and the number. Set the strategy and business plan for short form across our IP and signed creator roster, and bring audience and commercial evidence into the room where the slate gets decided. Brand worlds people recognise. Make every show and creator instantly ours in vertical, even without a logo, with formats and characters audiences follow on purpose. Formats that become IP. Spot the ideas with potential, prototype fast, build the evidence, and take the strongest to production or market. Revenue. Lead platform monetisation and build a direct revenue line from ad-funded, sponsored, sold and licensed formats. The system. Own the production line from brief to publish, with AI and tooling built in, a launch playbook for every new creator, and testing at the heart of everything. The relationships. Hold senior relationships at TikTok, Meta and YouTube, so we hear about new features and get support ahead of the market. Our creator partners. Own onboarding for every new creator, manage the relationships with their teams, and give them one clear view of growth and revenue. The team. Lead, develop and coach a team of 7 to 8 that could grow significantly. Be hands-on for your first 6 to 12 months, then build the management layer beneath you and lead through others, developing people deliberately and promoting from within. YOU'LL LOVE THIS IF You've built short-form brands and formats people recognise and return to You've carried a revenue number in social and know how platform monetisation works at scale You've made content that sells: sponsorship, ad-funded formats, licensing You see a brand partner as a creative opportunity, and bring it into your brand world with even more care than editorial You've worked across multiple brands and know how to operate at scale You'd rather build the model that works ten times than the viral post that worked once You back your taste, then let the data settle it You have a clear way of prioritising, and a first-principles view on where short form is going in the creator age You hire people who raise the standard, and take pride in growing them You want to own a P&L and a plan, with the latitude that comes with it WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Our brands are instantly recognisable in short form. Revenue lands on a forecast the business can plan against. At least one format is sold or licensed, and at least one becomes standalone IP. Audiences grow month on month, and people move from short form into our longer content. WHY FLIGHTSTORY You'll work at pace and volume with a team operating at a very high standard, with a voice in what the company makes next. Our ambition is to build a billion-dollar media company that reaches 1 in 6 people around the world within five years.
