ABOUT THINKING MACHINES The mission of Thinking Machines is to build AI that extends human will and judgment. We are training frontier models with Inkling, developing Tinker to let people make models their own, and crafting interfaces that broaden human-AI communication. We believe the future worth building is human, and we're hiring people who want to build it. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for an infrastructure research engineer to design, optimize, and maintain the compute foundations that power large-scale language model training. You will develop high-performance ML kernels (e.g., CUDA, CuTe, Triton), enable efficient low-precision arithmetic, and improve the distributed compute stack that makes training large models possible. This role is perfect for an engineer who enjoys working close to the metal and across the research boundary. You’ll collaborate with researchers and systems architects to bridge algorithmic design with hardware efficiency. You’ll prototype new kernel implementations, profile performance across hardware generations, and help define the numerical and parallelism strategies that determine how we scale next-generation AI systems. Note: This is an "evergreen role" that we keep open on an on-going basis to express interest. We receive many applications, and there may not always be an immediate role that aligns perfectly with your experience and skills. Still, we encourage you to apply. We continuously review applications and reach out to applicants as new opportunities open. You are welcome to reapply if you get more experience, but please avoid applying more than once every 6 months. You may also find that we put up postings for singular roles for separate, project or team specific needs. In those cases, you're welcome to apply directly in addition to an evergreen role. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Design and implement custom ML kernels (e.g., CUDA, CuTe, Triton) for core LLM operations such as attention, matrix multiplication, gating, and normalization, optimized for modern GPU and accelerator architectures. - Design and think through compute primitives to reduce memory bandwidth bottlenecks and improve kernel compute efficiency. - Collaborate with research teams to align kernel-level optimizations with model architecture and algorithmic goals. - Develop and maintain a library of reusable kernels and performance benchmarks that serve as the foundation for internal model training. - Contribute to infrastructure stability and scalability, ensuring reproducibility, consistency across precision formats, and high utilization of compute resources. - Document and share insights through internal talks, technical papers, or open-source contributions to strengthen the broader ML systems community. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, machine learning, physics, robotics, or similar. - Strong engineering skills, ability to contribute performant, maintainable code and debug in complex codebases - Understanding of deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX) and their underlying system architectures. - Thrive in a highly collaborative environment involving many, different cross-functional partners and subject matter experts. - A bias for action with a mindset to take initiative to work across different stacks and different teams where you spot the opportunity to make sure something ships. - Proficiency in CUDA, CuTe, Triton, or other GPU programming frameworks. - Demonstrated ability to analyze, profile, and optimize compute-intensive workloads. LOGISTICS - Location: This role is based in San Francisco, California. - Compensation: Depending on background, skills and experience, the expected annual salary range for this position is $350,000 - $475,000 USD. - Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas. While we can't guarantee success for every candidate or role, if you're the right fit, we're committed to working through the visa process together. - Benefits: Thinking Machines offers generous health, dental, and vision benefits, unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, and relocation support as needed.

After six years of experimentation, learning, and growth, New Energy Nexus Philippines has established itself as a trusted and influential contributor to the country's clean energy transition. The chapter has developed deep local expertise, a highly capable team, meaningful ecosystem relationships, and a growing body of locally grounded knowledge. The next Country Director will build on this strong foundation to lead the chapter into its next phase of scale , ambition , and impact —strengthening what works, developing the next generation of leaders, and shaping the future of New Energy Nexus Philippines. The Role The Country Director is the senior leader of New Energy Nexus Philippines and is accountable for the vision, strategy, growth, sustainability, and overall health of the chapter. This is a highly external, strategic, and entrepreneurial leadership role. The Country Director will position New Energy Nexus Philippines within a rapidly evolving clean energy ecosystem; build and steward the chapter's network of relationships with funders, partners, government, industry, and other ecosystem actors; and develop other leaders and experts across the team to represent the chapter and hold strategic relationships in their areas of expertise. The Country Director reports to the CEO of New Energy Nexus and works closely with leaders across the global New Energy Nexus network. Core Accountabilities & Key Responsibilities 1. Create, Inspire, and Steward the Vision and Strategy for New Energy Nexus Philippines The Country Director owns the long-term direction, strategic development, and programmatic success of New Energy Nexus Philippines. Develop and steward the chapter's relationship architecture, ensuring that strategic relationships are intentionally cultivated, appropriately owned across the team, and institutional rather than dependent on any one individual. Represent New Energy Nexus Philippines as a speaker, convener, mentor, thought partner, and ambassador within the clean energy and entrepreneurship ecosystem, while actively developing program leaders and subject matter experts to become credible external representatives in their own right. Shape and communicate a compelling narrative about New Energy Nexus Philippines' work and the role of entrepreneurship in accelerating the clean energy transition, ensuring that the chapter's external voice remains grounded in the lived realities and experiences of entrepreneurs, installers, communities, and partners. Continuously expand the chapter's reach, influence, and strategic partnerships by identifying new networks, collaborations, and opportunities that advance its mission and long-term impact. 4. They will: Stay closely connected to the learning generated through the chapter's programs, entrepreneurs, partners, and communities without becoming the day-to-day program manager, ensuring that meaningful insights are systematically captured and shared. Synthesize programmatic learning and ecosystem signals into clear strategic insights, challenging assumptions, refining the chapter's strategy, and identifying opportunities for new or scaled initiatives. Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to test ideas, learn from experience, and adapt when evidence or changing market conditions warrant it. Translate the chapter's learning into compelling insights for funders, partners, communications, New Energy Nexus global teams, and the broader ecosystem, strengthening the organization's influence and thought leadership. Ensure that learning flows in both directions across the New Energy Nexus network by contributing insights from the Philippines while actively integrating relevant learning from other chapters into the Philippines' strategy and programs. 6. Build, Lead, and Develop a High-Performing Team The Country Director is accountable for building and leading a high-performing organization with the leadership, capabilities, and culture required to achieve the chapter's long-term ambitions. Ensure that appropriate financial, operational, legal, compliance, and risk management systems are in place and that donor commitments, organizational obligations, and reporting requirements are consistently met. Provide effective governance and oversight by ensuring that significant risks are appropriately managed, escalated, and communicated to New Energy Nexus leadership. Foster a culture of accountability, sound stewardship, and organizational integrity across the chapter. The Country Director is accountable for these outcomes but is not expected to personally manage the chapter's day-to-day administrative and operational processes. 8. Collaborate Across the New Energy Nexus Network The Country Director is a leader within New Energy Nexus as well as the leader of the Philippines chapter. ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring an engineer to ensure the reliability of our GPU supercomputing fleet, owning the seam between hardware, firmware, and operating system. You will track the long tail of hardware issues: We are conducting frontier research in AI and a single bad NIC, HBM or a kernel driver edge case can compromise an experiment. Your job is to diagnose these issues, track their root cause down to the hardware, and resolve them internally or directly with vendors so that our researchers can run at scale and with confidence. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Investigate, reproduce, and remediate issues across large GPU clusters. - Own the drivers, kernel surface, and diagnostics that span hardware, firmware, and OS. - Automate the monitoring of fleet reliability and analyze error rates to validate whether a fix or firmware change measurably reduced failures rather than shifting them around. - Drive the firmware lifecycle: tracking, qualification, staged rollout, and regression analysis. - Engage vendors directly — GPUs, server OEMs, NIC vendors, and storage vendors — to get real fixes rather than ticket numbers. Manage RMA flows when hardware needs to come out. - Monitor and improve GPU hardware health signals and turn them into actionable reliability improvements. - Write clear postmortems and vendor cases that move issues forward. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or similar. - Proficiency in at least one backend language (we use Python or Rust). - Experience operating large‑scale clusters and container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes or Slurm). - Comfort operating across the stack and owning projects end-to-end. - Thrive in a highly collaborative environment involving many, different cross-functional partners and subject matter experts. - A bias for action with a mindset to take initiative to work across different stacks and different teams where you spot the opportunity to make sure something ships. Preferred qualifications — we encourage you to apply if you meet some but not all of these: - Fluency with Linux systems and debugging tools. - Proven statistical rigor in analyzing reliability. - A track record of debugging a problem from application symptom to the root cause in hardware. - Comfort reading vendor errata, firmware release notes, and kernel changelogs. - Experience engaging hardware vendors directly — not just through escalation portals. - Linux kernel literacy: the scheduler, memory management, IRQ paths, and the driver model. - Out-of-band management experience: BMC / iDRAC / IPMI / Redfish. - Depth in GPU hardware health: Xid error taxonomy, NVLink, NVSwitch, fabric manager, and DCGM. - Proficiency in at least one backend language (we use Python and Rust). - Significant ownership of the hardware reliability function at scale. - Strong writing skills for vendor cases and postmortems. - An instinct for telling apart a flaky machine, a flaky workload, and a flaky test.

Thinking Machines Lab

ABOUT THINKING MACHINES The mission of Thinking Machines is to build AI that extends human will and judgment. We are training frontier models with Inkling, developing Tinker to let people make models their own, and crafting interfaces that broaden human-AI communication. We believe the future worth building is human, and we're hiring people who want to build it. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a network engineer to own the lowest layers of the network stack that our large-scale training and inference depend on. A single degraded link or flapping NIC can quietly slow a long training run or take it down outright; you'll be responsible for interconnect reliability at scale, across large GPU fabrics — both the RDMA/RoCE fabric between nodes and the NVLink/NVSwitch domains within them. This is a hands-on, cross-stack role. You'll debug production collectives down to the NIC, build the instrumentation and tooling that makes the next debugging session dramatically faster, and serve as the technical point of contact who drives issues to resolution with our cloud providers' networking teams. Your goal is for our researchers to trust the fleet without worrying about the fabric underneath. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Reason about and validate GPU network fabric design across our deployments. - Debug RDMA / RoCEv2 across different NIC vendors. Diagnose collective failures of production NCCL, PFC/ECN tuning, and congestion control behavior. - Own NVLink / NVSwitch interconnect — including fabric manager and IMEX health, link and lane errors, and how the GPU fabric interacts with collectives. - Build host-level network instrumentation and use Linux tooling to build dashboards and alerts, not just the bug report. - Navigate cross-cloud fabric quirks across providers and triage across the NIC, driver, kernel, switch, and workload boundaries. - Drive escalations with cloud-provider networking teams, owning issues end-to-end until they're resolved. Preferred qualifications — we encourage you to apply if you meet some but not all of these: - Fluency with host-level debugging tools on Linux. - Strong communication skills, internally and with cloud providers. - Extensive experience with at least one of the following: - Familiarity with cloud network primitives across at least two cloud providers. - Hands-on experience with NVLink / NVSwitch, fabric manager, and IMEX. - Statistical rigor in reliability reasoning — comfort reasoning about failure and error rates, distributions, and base rates, and the judgment to separate signal from noise when characterizing a large fabric. - A track record of writing tooling that made the next debugging session meaningfully faster. - Familiarity with CUDA/NCCL and performance profiling for distributed training and inference. - Understanding of deep learning frameworks and their underlying system architectures.

Georgian

ABOUT GEORGIAN Georgian is a Toronto-based venture capital firm that partners with high-growth technology companies across cybersecurity, AI software, robotics, defense. We manage about $6B in assets and we have invested in more than 80 companies that we support with capital and technical capability. Our in-house AI lab works directly with portfolio companies to provide a differentiated experience across the investment lifecycle, and drives the adoption of AI for our internal operations. ABOUT THE ROLE This role will represent Georgian at the highest levels of LP engagement, supporting the scale of our platform across Growth Funds, Breakout Funds, and SPVs. It is a senior-facing position with significant exposure to Georgian's Founders and leadership team, requiring a high degree of autonomy, judgment, and executive presence. Unlike traditional Capital Formation roles, success at Georgian requires the ability to flex across both fundraising and investment functions. The Capital Formation team owns Investor Relations, the firm’s Strategic Investments program (Breakout Fund, LP co-invest, SPVs), and asset allocation. The team includes a mix of fundraisers, relationship managers, portfolio analysts, investment bankers, and investment professionals who specialize in later-stage or complex investment execution. This position offers meaningful exposure to deal execution and syndication across the Breakout Fund, LP co-invests, and SPVs (alongside core LP relationship management). WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LP COVERAGE & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT - Serve as both primary and secondary relationship manager across the LP base: - Own a defined set of relationships directly while supporting the Head of Capital Formation and Georgian’s Founders as a secondary point of contact on their pipeline. - Core coverage focused on North America, however potential travel across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia may be needed. - Maintain active LP engagement through regular calls, meetings, conferences, and roadshows. Track sentiment and preferences to tailor communications and strengthen long-term partnerships. - Act as a key execution partner to the Head of Capital Formation by preparing briefing materials, talking points, and presentations. - Step in to represent the Head of Capital Formation where appropriate, and provide strategic input to support fundraising decisions and LP prioritization. - Support development and execution of fundraising strategy, including identification and prioritization of new LP prospects. - Prepare pipeline reports and status updates for senior leadership, providing visibility into fundraising progress and conversion metrics. CAPITAL FORMATION OPERATIONS - Oversee the strategy of core LP communications and partner with various firm stakeholders to drive execution. - Help build scalable processes, templates, and playbooks that improve team efficiency and output quality. - Delegate, mentor, and oversee work products from junior team members, providing feedback to ensure quality, consistency, and professional development. - Coordinate due diligence processes for prospective investors, including DDQ responses, reference calls, and onsite visits, with support from junior Capital Formation resources. - Partner with finance, legal, and compliance teams to support LP reporting obligations and regulatory requirements. STRATEGIC INVESTMENT SYNDICATION During periods when Georgian is not actively raising a flagship fund, we believe LP facing team members should develop deeper expertise across our portfolio and investment strategy. In our view, the best way to build that expertise is through hands-on deal execution, which sharpens the investor mindset needed to engage LPs with conviction and credibility. Our co-invest program is a critical tool for deepening LP relationships, and having genuine depth on our portfolio and strategy is what makes those conversations meaningful. - Support the Strategic Investments team across large follow-on investments derived from our Breakout Fund, LP co-invest opportunities, and SPVs or Continuation Vehicles. - Collaborate with the Strategic Investments team on deal materials (investment memos, ad hoc due diligence requests, cap table analysis, company presentations), transaction structuring, diligence coordination, and closing mechanics. - When required, Interact with portfolio company management teams on transaction process milestones, syndication, and closing dynamics. - Serve as a primary point of contact for LP co-invest interest, matching opportunities to investor mandates and managing communication throughout the investment process. - Build and maintain relationships with LPs and strategic partners to develop a reliable syndication network for future co-invest opportunities. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - Experience: 5+ years of experience in investment banking, a top-tier placement agent firm, management consulting, or a dedicated investor relations/business development role within private equity. - Intellectual Curiosity: you demonstrate a genuine passion for software and AI trends, with an eagerness to master complex technical concepts quickly. You will proactively engage with subject matter experts in the AI Lab to stay ahead of market shifts and firm-wide innovations. - Analytical Rigor: you apply a first-principles mindset to evaluate business fundamentals and technical differentiation. You are expected to synthesize deep diligence insights to confidently contribute in discussions both internally and to sophisticated LPs. - Technical Skills: You must demonstrate high proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (financial modeling/metrics) and PowerPoint/Google Slides, supported with strong technical experience managing and interpreting large data sets, data analysis, data mining, and pattern recognition. High proficiency using AI productivity tools to streamline workflows and accelerate content development is a significant asset. Experience withHubSpot, Deal Cloud, or similar CRM workflows for pipeline tracking is a nice-to-have asset. - Soft Skills: You possess the professional polish and confidence required to navigate high-stakes environments and “manage the room” during senior level engagements. You command credibility with institutional executives while maintaining obsessive attention to detail, and the ability to execute complex projects under tight deadlines. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, commerce, or a related field. LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT - Work Environment: This role is hybrid, but the head office is based in Toronto. Georgian’s hybrid work model balances focused remote work with high-impact in-office collaboration. - Travel: This position requires a strong willingness to travel globally (estimated to be up to 50-60% time commitment) to support investor meetings and industry conferences. - Growth: This is a high-visibility role with significant exposure to senior leadership and the global LP community, offering a clear path towards a Partner level role within Capital Formation. POSITION STATUS This posting represents an active, immediate vacancy on our team. We are currently interviewing for this role. OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY Georgian is dedicated to building an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We provide reasonable accommodations throughout our recruitment process to ensure every candidate has the opportunity to perform at their best. INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER, APPLIED AI The Firm Paradigm https://www.paradigm.xyz/ is a San Francisco-based investment firm focused on frontier technologies across the globe, with over $11 billion in assets under management. We make investments in companies and protocols at all stages, ranging from early-stage venture financing rounds to growth equity to liquid assets. Paradigm was co-founded in 2018 and is co-led by Matt Huang https://www.linkedin.com/in/kmhuang/ and Alana Palmedo https://www.linkedin.com/in/askorniakoffpalmedo/. We’ve been hard at work investigating the world’s most beautiful technical problems since day one. Our research-driven approach helps us build relationships with founders and entrepreneurs, but it also reflects our broader goal of accelerating the progress of frontier technology. The Role Over the last eight years Paradigm has built some of the most used open-source software in the crypto industry, including Reth https://github.com/paradigmxyz/reth and Foundry https://github.com/foundry-rs/foundry. Earlier this year we published EVMBench https://paradigm.xyz/evmbench with OpenAI, launched Optimization Arena https://www.optimizationarena.com/ and hosted the Auto Research https://paradigm.xyz/automated-research-hackathon/ hackathon. More recently, we open-sourced Centaur https://www.paradigm.xyz/writing/open-sourcing-centaur-multiplayer-self-hosted-secure-agents, a self-hosted runtime for multiplayer AI agents, which we’ve been using to transform how we work at Paradigm and Tempo. All of these were done part-time by people on Paradigm’s Investing & Research team. This has made us realize that we are people-bound, not idea or impact bound. We need to grow our team to achieve our ambitions. We want to do three things: 1. Experiment aggressively. We will push the capabilities of models, harnesses and infrastructure to the limit in service of Paradigm’s broader goals in investing, research, and building. 2. Build in public. We will get our hands dirty building useful open-source products. 3. Invest. We will leverage our infrastructure - an area we think is still ripe for disruption with AI - to be better investors. By understanding infrastructure gaps experientially, we may incubate companies that will accrue value by addressing these gaps. As we deploy more long-running agentic capabilities, we may get into fundamental research, forecasting, model cost optimizations etc., but that is not our focus yet. We are looking for fearless engineers for this project who understand infrastructure, security, AI models, harnesses, and Slackbots. You will work directly with Georgios, Arjun, Matt Slipper, and the broader Paradigm team, alongside Tempo, and other companies that are themselves operating at the frontier. Your work will directly impact how Paradigm operates every day. If this sounds like you, reach out. Responsibilities - Control plane and durability: Own the core services that coordinate agent runs, keeping execution state durable and recoverable through restarts, failovers, and everything that goes wrong in production. - Execution runtime: Build and harden the sandboxed, Kubernetes-based runtime that isolates agent sessions, covering provisioning, lifecycle, and the network controls that make untrusted agent code safe to run. - Secrets and secure egress: Maintain the credential model that lets agents call third-party APIs without ever holding raw keys. - Reliability and observability: Own monitoring, alerting, incident response, and the failure-recovery behavior the system relies on. - Self-hosted deployment: Keep Centaur something any organization can run inside its own walls, with clean deployment, sane configuration, and painless upgrades. Qualifications and Experience - A track record of building world-class products - Experience applying modern AI and software systems to solve complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end - Comfortable navigating everything from foundational models to full-stack product delivery - Pragmatic, product-minded builder who cares about solving real problems rather than overfitting to academic ML goals - Ability to work autonomously and as a collaborator on the team Attributes - Exceptional team player - Extreme open-mindedness - Clarity of thought - Clear and concise communication (both written and verbal) - Technical depth; analytical; rigorous - Highly curious; fast learner - Ability to bridge technical and investing mindsets - Interest in frontier technologies and crypto markets
