Correct a page on this site

Telling us something is wrong is free, needs no account, and is the most useful thing a reader can do here.

What to send

Through the corrections topic:

1. The page address on this site.
2. The specific fact that is wrong.
3. A source that shows the correct version, ideally the organization's own page.

That third one turns a report into a same-day fix. We check the claim against its source rather than against the report, so without one we are comparing two assertions.

What happens next

• You get a reference immediately, something like INQ-3F9C21A0. Keep it if you want to follow up.
• We open the source and compare it to what we published.
• Where they disagree, the source wins.
• The page changes on the next publish, and the change is recorded.

What we will not do

• We will not remove a page because someone would rather it were not findable, unless the organization asks and we can confirm it is them.
• We will not describe an organization more favorably on request. There is no version of this where flattery is purchasable.
• We will not tell you who else reported the same thing.

Say so, and write from an address at your organization's domain where you can. It speeds up verification and it protects you from someone else asking us to change your page.
