Seedstars SMART Certification for Coaches
A competency-based certification from Seedstars for professionals who coach founders, earned over a six week sprint plus work with at least one real founder.
Overview
SMART is Seedstars' competency-based certification framework for professional founder support. The Coach track is for people who coach founders, either inside an entrepreneur support organization's program or independently, and it certifies them against the same standard Seedstars uses for program managers. The method is built on scientific, hypothesis-driven venture building with structured experiments, and coaching sessions are tracked and scored on Sigma, the Seedstars platform for entrepreneurship support.
The track has three modules: foundations of scientific coaching for founders, methodological mastery of evidence-based company building, and pedagogy, facilitation and coaching excellence. It runs as a roughly one week onboarding bootcamp, a roughly six week certification sprint of self-paced modules with weekly small-group clinics led by Seedstars experts and three milestone reviews, then a live phase in which the coach works with at least one real founder on Sigma. Certification is earned through applied deliverables such as a founder journey blueprint, a case simulation analysis, a structured coaching session plan and a coaching case summary, reviewed by AI and peers with senior Seedstars sign-off.
The list price is 3,900 US dollars per participant and includes the Train-the-Trainers online course, access to the SMART Methodology for Founders course, Sigma portal access, weekly clinics and office hours, and membership of the Seedstars global community of mentors and coaches. Applications are free and reviewed by the Seedstars team; the next intake is January 2027.
