Overview

The Certified Chair Executive Program is run by the Advisory Board Centre, an Australian-founded professional body for the advisory sector, and is described as the only executive education program developed specifically for people who chair and sit on advisory boards. It is built on the ABF101 Advisory Board Best Practice Framework and is accredited by the CPD Certification Service. The program is aimed at experienced professional advisors, advisory board members and non-executive directors who want structured frameworks and tools for advisory work with organizations, including founder-led companies.

The curriculum has four parts: advisory boards and committees, including how advisory boards relate to governance boards and executive teams and the ethical boundaries between consultancy, advisory and directorship; establishing advisory boards, covering the charter, member selection, measures of success and impact; executing advisory boards with impact, covering roles, protocols, risk, agenda building and the Advisory Board Professional Code of Ethics; and market profiling and personal brand, covering portfolio building, pipeline and personal transition planning.

Programs run several times a month, either online over four half days across all time zones or in person over two full days in locations including the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Dubai, Riyadh, Bali and Australia. Admission is by application against stated criteria. The fee, which varies by program date and currency, includes the program and a twelve month professional development and board community membership with a personalized portfolio review session.
