The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity provides interest-free personal loans to support business startups, expansions, and postgraduate education for eligible residents aged 18-45 in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Founded from an endowment by Sir Thomas White in 1542, the charity operates independently and is managed by 17 trustees and 5 volunteers. The charity offers two main types of loans: up to £20,000 for business purposes and up to £10,000 for postgraduate education. These loans are interest-free and have a repayment period of nine years, starting after a three-year deferral. The organization emphasizes fostering self-establishment in careers through repayable loans, providing hands-on support throughout the application process. Eligibility criteria include residency requirements and a commitment to the loan terms.

The Women's Enterprise Leadership Fund (WEALF) is dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs become financially self-sufficient through their business. Our program combines no and low interest loans with one-on-one mentoring. To date we have loaned over $500,000 and our repayment rate of over 90% proves that age, zip code, and ethnicity are not barriers to gain support and growth. Loans are granted without collateral or a guarantor making them available to a market previously not served by traditional loan program.
