About

Boost VC is a pre-seed venture capital firm and startup accelerator that was founded in 2012. It leverages technology focused on forging the future of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, VR/AR (Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality), AI (Artificial Intelligence) and other unique technologies.

The co-founders of the firm are Adam Draper, the fourth-generation venture capitalist, and Brayton Williams. Both have a dedicated focus on sourcing startups that emerge from sectors that often face regulatory challenges.

Boost VC's accelerator program provides housing, office space, and investment in exchange for equity. The program takes place twice a year, with each cohort lasting for three months.

Boost VC has backed more than 250 companies to date. One notable success story is the investment in Etherscan, a Block Explorer and Analytics Platform for Ethereum. Another is Coinbase, a digital currency exchange, that as of 2020 is valued at more than 8 billion USD.

Among the successful founders related to Boost VC is Brian Armstrong, the Co-Founder & CEO of Coinbase. There is also Matthew Liu, the Co-Founder of Origin Protocol, a platform that enables the creation of peer-to-peer marketplaces.

Boost VC also has several related initiatives. One such important example is Tribe 12, a pre-seed program for Sci-Fi Tech startups, with the potential of offering up to a $500k investment.

One important particularity of Boost VC is its focus on specific sectors such as cryptocurrency and VR, which differentiates it from other accelerators that might have a broader tech focus. They also provide physical housing which sets them apart from other accelerators.
